Whole Food Brownies
I have a real quicky for you today guys. A simple brownie recipe full of goodness for the body and the taste buds!
My most favourite recipes to share with you guys are the healthy sweet treats. Both whole food and plant-based these brownies can be enjoyed on both levels of taste and wellbeing. You know you've found a keeper when your cakes are healthy enough to eat for breakfast! These tasty morsels are no different. You will need a non-stick shallow oven dish.
3/4 cup cooked and pureed sweet potato
3 tbsp pure maple syrup
2 tbsp almond butter
1 tbsp ground flax
1/2 cup wholemeal flour
1/2 cup walnuts
1 tbsp date puree
1 tsp baking powder
5 tbsp cacao
Preheat the oven Gas mark 5/375F
Mix together in a bowl the sweet potato and date puree.
Add in your maple syrup and almond butter.
In a separate bowl mix together your dry ingredients.
Pour your wet bowl into your dry bowl and gently combine. (Don’t overdo it as it will make your brownies less soft.)
Gentle press your mixture into your shallow oven dish and bake in the oven for 20 minutes
