Snowy Word Scramble

I absolutely love this time of year. The cooler days and the darker evenings make this the perfect time to snuggle up and get stuck into festive crafts and winter-themed activities.

We have been turning our hand at all sorts of winter-themed fun from Christmas writing trays to paint dipped pine cones and I’m not sure who has had the most fun, myself or the kids?!

During these frosty days, my two just love sitting down and having fun learning about the winter season. Each year we enjoy marking the occasion with worksheets and projects. A lovely way to celebrate the changing seasons and break up the year with familiar traditions.

We have recently stumbled upon a fantastic learning resource that we wanted to share with you guys. This website is geared up to support teachers and home educators with ideas and resources. The lovely people at education.com have even offered us a free printable to share with you!

This printable is a winter-inspired word scramble. Neither of the kids has ever tried one of these before so I wasn’t sure how they would take to it. I was aware that this may have been a bit of a challenge for Fin but he managed to guess two of the words himself and the rest he used as writing (and drawing) practice! Pops absolutely loved this worksheet. She has declared that she now wants us to print off more word scrambles. She totally loved the challenge and the fact that it was a festive worksheet made it all the more fun for her. I am so excited that we get to share this with you for your wee ones to enjoy.

Keep those spelling skills warmed up in this cold weather with this Snowy Word Scramble. Students and parents can find more spelling challenges at education.com. You can download the ones used in this post below.
