Pops' Smoothie

I am so happy to be writing out this recipe for you all. Not only because it is super yummy delicious but also because it’s our Pops first recipe on the blog. Yay! Go Pops!
This recipe came about after several failed attempts at getting Pops to enjoy a green smoothie. Bless her, she drank the ones she didn’t like but I wanted to find a green smoothie that she really loved. So I thought what better way to find a recipe than to get her to design one herself. I am ashamed to admit this as I’m meant to be the brains behind the recipes but this truly is the most delicious green smoothie I have ever had. Now admittedly it doesn’t have large amounts of broccoli or kale in it but it is jam-packed with goodness and she has drunk a large jar of this smoothie every day for the last week and has enjoyed every last drop!
Serves 4
Ingredients
  • Half a small pineapple
  • 1 large ripe mango (or frozen if you like your smoothie cold)
  • 1 avocado
  • Juice of 2 or 3 oranges
  • 2 teaspoons wheatgrass powder
  • Top up blender jug with filtered water
Blend until smooth and creamy

This is a great smoothie for kids as it’s deliciously sweet and full of vitamins and good fats. It is also a really great way to introduce green smoothies so that over time they can become more adventurous with the ingredients. So thank you Pops! I’m sure this will be the first of many delicious recipes you’ll share as you are one talented little lady. Mwah!
Off the back of this Pops also had another amazing idea (super proud mummy moment!) of putting together her very own ebook of vegan smoothie recipes designed and tested by her. Not only will this be an amazing home education project but also a great life skill on how to market your own product. It can truly be a family project as all recipes will have to be tested on Fin, photographed by daddy and blender assisted by mummy.
