Don’t you just love getting two of your favourite things in the whole wide world and combining them together? It’s like chocolate and orange or roasties and mustard or peanut butter and jam. Some things were just meant to belong together. This is one of those times. I am one huge Christmas fan and the second September (yes I’m that Christmas crazy) comes around I am all over the Christmas recipes trying out all the wonderful different combos out there. I think you’ll all agree that I struck gold with this one. I mean mincepie flavoured doughnuts!!! Why had I not thought of that before? They really are as delicious as they sound. (Do you hear the sound of tooting trumpets?) Apologies for the shameless patting oneself on the back but I am so proud of this recipe and I can not wait to hear what you guys think of it too! Let us know what fantastic Christmas mash-ups you guys have tried. Sprout ice cream or roast potato sandwiches maybe? Actually, I could totally eat a roast potato sandwich but that can just be our little secret right? See you soon friends. Help us out! If you have any […]
There is nothing I love more than a beautiful bowl of comfort food at this time of year. There is just something about scooping from a steamy bowl and knowing your body is being nourished from the delicious goodness inside. Those of you who know me know that my favourite meal in the world is our lemon kale pasta broth but I have to tell you, my friends, that this dish has rivalled it. Boasting the same nutritional benefits and offering the ‘hug in a bowl’ effect I can now proudly say that I have two favourite dishes. On to the recipe… If you’re feeling run down, need a hug or simply fancy a quick easy supper then let this be your go-to. It will warm the cockles of your heart.
Doughnuts made of vegetables I hear you cry?! It’s crazy, but it’s true! These bad boys have been inspired by a Forks Over Knives recipe which you can find here. They have been adapted to fit even more wonderful veggies in and you will not believe how sticky and delicious they are. It’s about this time of year when our bodies crave the more fulfilling of recipes. Warm stews and roast dinners. Surrounded by so much confection in the shops and on the TV it’s no wonder that we begin to crave the naughty sweet stuff too, am I right? Well, this recipe is the best of both worlds. Your body will be nourished by all of the wonderful whole plant foods and yet your taste buds will be fooled into thinking that all their Christmases have come at once! Oil, egg, refined sugar and dairy free these scrumptious little rings are the treats that keep on giving. Enjoy!! You will need a mini doughnut mould. Here is a link to our sweet potato and date puree recipe I really hope you enjoy these fabulous doughnuts as much as my family has. Stay healthy beautiful people! Help us out! If […]
Well, this recipe came as a bit of surprise I can tell you. I’m not a fan of mint confection usually but somehow managed to find myself the proud owner of a bottle of peppermint essence. (Long story!) Me being me I hated the idea of any waste so thought I would make a simple treat for the kids and boy, oh boy, was I shocked at how delicious they were. They are simply Christmas in a biscuit. I am now one hell of a peppermint fan. Who knew? These are so simple to make, making them the perfect bake with little ones. Your home will smell like icy peppermint and you, like me, will now be putting these on the Christmas traditions list. Enjoy!! Now, if these last long enough and you want to store any them for later then pop them into an airtight container and they will last for a few days. They will lose some of their crunch but will still be perfectly chewy and delicious. Don’t forget to tag us into your photos on the socials. We love seeing your bakes especially the festive treats made by you and your mini ones. Have a wonderful, […]
