Today I have a super simple craft idea! Autumn colours fruit and veg stamping. Now, aside from it breaking my heart to cut up my beloved favourite foods and dip them in paint this easy go-to craft idea is so satisfying and rewarding for both kids and grown-ups alike.
I always love to mark the season change with an array of craft ideas and this is one that we all love to revisit each year. Not only is this a lovely way to involve the warm autumnal colours but it’s a great way to make artwork to decorate your home during the autumn/fall season.
Where could this craft lead?
This little project allows you to discuss the seasonal fruits and vegetables available at this time of year and open up into a project about the life cycles of plants. You could cut out your printed pictures to make autumn bunting or laminate large sections of their art to turn into placemats or coasters. You could discuss the colour wheel and the warmth of some colours over others or even plot on a graph how many of each veg have been stamped. The choices are endless!
What you will need:
- Cut your chosen fruits and veggies in half.
- Fill your paint plates with your chosen colour paints.
- Protect your carpets with your protective mats.
- Roll out your paper and get stamping!
We hope you have as much fun with this craft as we did! Share with us in the comments your favourite autumn crafts. We’d love for this to be a page full of all of your wonderful ideas too.
As with all of the crafts we share with you, we ask you to make sure that they are age appropriate for your little ones. Never leave them alone with items they can choke on or use sharp or unsafe objects during play. Stay safe little Journey Jellies.
